Description of Work:

Midland Park Elementary received 3 new classrooms and extensive renovation to the existing building. The project included roofing, interior and exterior finishes, structural modifications, new HVAC, plumbing, electrical and communications equipment. Removal and reinstallation of existing kitchen equipment as well as installation of new kitchen hood were included in this work.

This project was performed in four phases and with creative planning eliminated several months from the original schedule. The renovation work allowed Brantley to work closely and with flexibility with school administrators to ensure that specific needs were accommodated, appropriate separation was achieved, and that the impact to the learning process was minimized.

Midland Park was renovated in phases while occupied by students and school staff. Additional emphasis was placed on methods to keep students and staff safe. The project was completed within or before the time allowed and met all critical dates. Working with our staff and subcontractors, we determined early that with collective strategy and cooperation, Brantley could reduce the contract schedule and complete the project early. Additional adjustments were made to allow for completion of Owner-requested change orders and unforeseen conditions.
