Ray Maher - Safety/Quality Control Director, Vice President
Ray Maher has over 30 years of construction experience including work as concrete foreman, superintendent, quality control inspector, safety officer, safety director, project manager of Brantley Construction Company, LLC. Ray heads up the management team for Brantley for Federal work and functions as liaison between the Government and the construction team, implementing our approach with all parties involved in the project. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma, College of Architecture. Ray is currently working towards a graduate degree in Management and Leadership. He has extensive experience in commercial construction on both private and federal governmental levels.
Since joining Brantley in 1989, his primary function has been to provide oversight on all field operations, management and direction of project managers, superintendents and all field employees. He ensures that all resources of the company are managed and coordinated in an efficient and professional manner on all projects, performing work within the budget and ahead of schedule. Additionally, Ray conducts OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour safety training as Industry Outreach Trainer to ensure personnel are properly trained to handle accident prevention controls.
Ray has earned many accolades in the industry by serving as a volunteer in South Carolina for many years. Since 2011 he is the chairman of SC Work Management, SCWIB. He also is a former President of CEFPI, SC Chapter (in 2006) and the Southeast Region (in 2012), current board member of the SC State Work Force Investment (since 2009), former President of the Charleston Contractors Association and the Palmetto LEADS (in 2005) and current member of the AIA Association (since 1987).
Aside from managing everything at work, Ray enjoys photography, kayaking and boating.
