This project for the NC Department of Agriculture consisted of approximately 1,000 SF of new Bathroom facilities in the middle of the DuPont State Forest. The Hooker Falls access has over 30,000 people per month, so the facility was designed to accommodate the extremely heavy volume of people that will utilize it. The septic system is a two-stage effluent pump system that has a leech field of over 1 acre. The facility has a concrete slab and masonry structure with metal roofing on timber trusses. The bathrooms have tiled walls and sealed cement floors accommodating 10 closing partitions, 4 urinal partitions, 1 family restroom and a maintenance access area. Additional features include an ADA water fountain with a bottle filling station. The project was built to blend into the natural surroundings with earth-tone colors and a stone veneer wainscot.
