This beautiful park / streetscape project is a result of the coordination of all parties involved in the project and the determination of Brantley Construction’s team to complete this project in time for the aquarium’s grand opening. The scope of work included revitalzing a former hazardous material storage yard, contaminated with many dangerous substances, and turning it into a beautiful grand entrance park for the aquarium. Although the scope of work was typical, the working conditions and restrictions were atypical. The construction of the concrete retaining walls that served as seating around the perimeter, sidewalks, bluestone pavers and bluestone curbing, brick pavers, concrete paving, landscape and grass were all complicated by the hazardous material clean up that had to be completed in a very short timeframe.
