A 20,759 SF renovation of a 1970 SC Army National Guard Armory comprised of 10,235 SF business area, 573 SF mechanical room, 3,633 SF of 3 storage rooms, and 6,316 SF assembly area. The building is constructed with CMU block clad with brick veneer. The renovated areas include a lobby and waiting area, 3 classrooms, 16 offices, ID Card center, Behavioral Health center, copy room, gym, 2 vaults, catering kitchen, scullery, pantry storage, dressing rooms, showers, latrines. Demolition involved lead and asbestos hazardous abatement, interior finishes, doors, existing concrete roof panels, mechanical, and electrical. New interior features included new doors, hardware, bathroom and shower partitions and accessories, painting, sealed and polished concrete, carpet, ceramic tiles, VCT tiles and coiling doors. New mechanical, plumbing and electrical installations including a large tankless water heater to heat simultaneous showers, new lift station and back-up generator with automatic transfer switch. A new modified bitumen membrane roof was installed. Site improvements will include multiple new cast-in-place concrete platforms, ADA ramps, stairs, new railings, sidewalks, new asphalt and concrete pavement, sealcoating existing asphalt, and extensive landscaping.
