University of North Carolina Asheville Student Housing Multipurpose Building

Chestnut Hall is a new 4,500 SF multi-use structure that includes a Donna and David Bailey Welcome Center, admission offices, a fitness room, and an apartment for the community director. The structure consists of a series of concrete cast in place walls, structural steel, light gauge framing. The project also includes many high-end cabinetry items, metal linear exposed ceilings, ceramic tile and LVT floors throughout. MEP items were installed as well as a wet sprinkler system. This project utilizes two different building codes: the liveable space and the multi-use space.
