A new 3,983 SF one-story EMS and Fire Response Station for Awendaw, SC. The new facility accommodates crew and staff assigned to Fire Station No. 7. The new Station incorporates 1,908 SF of 3 offices, 2 crew quarters, gear/turnout room, decontamination area, showers and bathrooms, storage, mechanical room, Kitchen/activity room, and laundry, in addition to 2,075 SF for 2 drive-thru Vehicle bays. The vehicle bays include 4 overhead window bay doors, large vehicle bay ceiling fan, eyewash station, and SafeAir vehicle exhaust system. The building incorporates a mass notification system, fire protection and sprinkler system, and toxic gas indicators. Site work included Site Clearing, grading, dewatering, wetland mitigation, detention pond, asphalt driveway, concrete sidewalk and parking, and landscaping. A 1,000 gal underground propane tank and 500 gal Sub-base Fuel Tank were installed, along with a Kohler 80 kw generator on a cast-in-place concrete pad. Concrete bollards were installed for site and building protection. Structure consists of wood trusses, structural steel frame, cast-in-place slab on grade concrete with moisture curing, fire partitions, standing seam metal roof, 6 awnings, and raised mechanical platforms. Finishes in the new construction include Hardie plank siding, exposed roof trusses, Resilient tile flooring, Ceramic Tile, millwork cabinets, drywall, paint, and activity room ceiling fan flooring.
